Good treats for your dog!

If you know us, you'll know we are a holistic company who are passionate about ensuring you are able to provide the very best care for your dog as possible. This begins at a foundation with nutrition; what your dog eats. Using treats is a big part of training and dog ownership in general so it's so important that we are giving our dogs good quality treats that are benefiting their health and not hindering it.


So here are a list of good quality treats that we use and love!


1. Canagan small breed dog food (£18.99 for 2kg)

The Canagan small breed dog food is great for training treats as they are tiny and amazing quality! The food itself is all natural, British made and the ingredients are very high quality so if you're using a lot of treats, these are a great option that are going to be very beneficial to your dogs health. They come in two flavours: country game and chicken.


Ingredients (Country Game):

Freshly Prepared Duck (16%), Dried Duck (16%), Sweet Potato, Dried Herring (9%), Dried Rabbit (9%), Peas, Potato, Freshly Prepared Venison (4%), Turkey Fat (4%), Dried Egg (4%), Alfalfa, Salmon Oil (2%), Chicken Gravy (1%), Minerals, Apple, Carrot, Spinach, Seaweed, Fructooligosaccharides, Psyllium, Camomile, Peppermint, Marigold, Cranberry, Aniseed & Fenugreek.


2. Canagan Biscuit Bakes (£3.99)

Again, Canagan are a great brand that have great, natural ingredients so when they launched their dog treats we were straight on to ordering! These are larger treats but are easy to break up if needed and come in three flavours: salmon, country game and chicken.


Ingredients (Salmon):

Salmon (Min 40%), Chickpea (25%), Sweet Potato (21%), Vegetable Oil, Linseed, Mixed Herbs, Yucca Extract, Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate (5000 mg/kg), Glucosamine (1000 mg/kg), MSM (1000 mg/kg), Chondroitin (1000 mg/kg), Devil’s Claw.


2. Bounce and Bella training treats (£9.99)

Bounce and Bella are another great brand who's food and treats are full of beneficial and natural ingredients. The training treats are again, very small so great for smaller breeds or for if you're doing tricks training or using a lot of treats and they are very cost effective for the amount of treats that you get per bag. They come in two flavours: fish and poultry.


Ingredients (Fish):

80% Freshly Prepared and Gently Steam Cooked Fish (Salmon 43%, Trout 23%, White Fish 12%, Salmon Stock 2%) 20% Potato, Sweet Potato


3. Bounce and Bella natural treats(£6.99)

Bounce and Bella also do a wide selection of completely natural treats which are amazing options as they are in their most natural form and therefore really palatable and offer the most beneficial nutritional intake. They have a wide variety of options including: beef chews, chicken nibbles, duck nibbles, beef nibbles, chicken, beef and pork strips, venison nibbles, venison chews, dental chews, sprats, whitefish and potato cookies, pork pieces, tripe sticks, pigs ear strips and fish skin snacks.

4. Pooch & Mutt (£22.99 for 7 bags)

Pooch and Mutt are another great company that include high quality ingredients in their food and treats. The treats are a nice size and easy to break up if you wanted to and are a softer consistency than the others mentioned if your dog prefers soft treats. They have a wide variety of flavours including: turkey and hemp, shrimp and coconut, duck and rosemary and they also do event specials like valentine's and Christmas treats.


Ingredients (Turkey and Hemp):

Turkey, hemp, valerian root, L-tryptophan, melon extract and probiotics.


5. Denzel's (£17.40 for 6 packs)

Denzel's are a brand I came across by chance in a local shop and was impressed at them having such great, natural ingredients in them! They are all natural, healthy and most are low calorie too. They have training treats as well as chew treats and have multipack options and even a subscription box option if that's something you would like! They have a whole host of flavours including: different meat flavours, different fish flavours and plant based flavours.


Ingredients (Tropical Bites):

Chickpea flour, white fish (18%), sweet potato, vegetable glycerine, rapeseed oil, coconut (2%), seaweed, ginger and dried mango.


6. Lily's Kitchen (£2.65)

Lily's Kitchen are a great company who produce high quality food and treats for dogs and cat's and have a wide option of different treats available. They have smaller training treats as well as larger treat options that are breakable as well as chews and baked treats so plenty of options for your dog to try out. They have a wide variety of flavours including: turkey and whitefish bites, tropical mango jerky, sweet potato jerky, chicken and beef training treats, pork and apple sausages, chicken bites, beef mini burgers, beef chew sticks, lamb chew sticks, salmon chew sticks , turkey chew sticks, cheese and apple training treats, woofbrush dental chews and a whole load more!


Ingredients (Chicken and Beef training treats):

76% Freshly Prepared Chicken, 12% Freshly Prepared Beef, Vegetable Glycerine (derived from Rapeseed Oil), Butternut Squash, Turmeric. Additives: Technological Additives: Antioxidants (Tocopherol extracts from vegetable oil).


7. Fish 4 Dogs (£4.00)

Fish 4 dogs do, you guessed it, fish food and treats for dogs! They have several great options for treats and all are natural ingredients that are great for your dog and being fish options, are nice and smelly and very tasty for dogs. They have several options available for different age groups including: salmon, white fish, squid, calamari, sardine, redfish and several different flavoured fish wraps.

8. Barker and Barker (£12.45)

Barker and Barker have some treats that are absolutely TINY and perfect for puppies, small breed dogs or if you're doing things like tricks training or heavy treat work where you may need a lot of treats in a short space of time. They have different treat size options depending on what you like and multipacks available too. They are full of great, high quality and natural ingredients and are low calorie too. They have several different options available including: arctic fish, liver, fruit and veg and a few other mixes.


Ingredients (Arctic Fish):

Arctic Cod, minerals, brewers yeast


9. Wainwrights (£2.49)

Wainwrights are actually really great quality treats despite being a big name brand and are one that are easy to get hold of being at most big pet shops. They have great ingredients, several flavour options and are a great size treat that is easily broken into smaller portions if you'd like to. They have several flavours including: turkey and rice, salmon and rice and lamb and rice.


Ingredients (Turkey and Rice):

Brown Rice (31%), Turkey (28%) (Turkey Meal 26%, Turkey Gravy 2%), Dried Potato, Barley, Turkey Fat (6%), Beet Pulp (3%), Linseed (1%), Brewers' Yeast, Seaweed Meal (0.5%), Salmon Oil, Minerals, Yeasts (as a source of Beta-glucans and Prebiotic Mannan-oligosaccharide), Chicory Root Extract (0.05% as a source of Prebiotic Fructooligosaccharide), Yucca Extract, Cranberry Extract, Dried Marigold.
